Restore old characters

DragonFire-BG is back with WotLK too: DragonFire-BG WotLK. If you played on our old WotLK server, your heroes are not lost — we kept a copy of the original database and you can bring them back.

The idea

DragonFire-BG WotLK is a brand-new server: a modern, maintained core (TrinityCore 3.3.5a), a new world and a new, empty database. Everyone starts fresh and on equal terms.

The old database does not go live again as it was. It holds over 190,000 heroes created between 2010 and 2019, most of them long abandoned. It stays as an archive, and every player picks which of their own heroes to bring into the new world.

Why we do it this way

  • A clean start: the new world holds only heroes someone actually plays, not thousands of empty names.
  • Safety: a hero only goes back to the person who proves the old account is theirs. Nobody else can take your heroes.
  • Nothing is lost: the archive stays unchanged. A hero is copied, not moved, so the original always remains.

What comes over

The hero with their level, gear, bags and bank, gold, professions, spells and talents, reputation, quests and achievements, and hunters' pets.

Guilds do not come over — the hero arrives without a guild and can found or join a new one. If the name is already taken in the new world, the game asks you for a new one at the first login.

How it works — step by step

  1. Register or log in to the site. One account works on both realms (Classic and WotLK), with the same password.
  2. Link your old account on this page in one of three ways: with the old password (instantly), with a link sent to the old email (valid 24 hours), or with a request to the team if you remember neither — the team checks it by hand.
  3. Pick the heroes you want back and press "Restore". They are copied to DragonFire-BG WotLK within minutes, without restarting the server.
  4. Log in to the game with a WoW 3.3.5a client and your site account — your heroes are waiting in the list.

Never played here before? You need nothing from this page — register and start with a new hero.
